To describe the style of her store Johnson says, “It’s more than a style it’s a sense of color, its eclectic, is not a particular French style but is influenced by a lot of different styles and colors that come together.” Johnson believes each of her stores stand alone and has no intention of consolidating the two. The Cluney tapestries from France were the inspiration in naming the business French Unicorn. Ann, once an interior designer in Southern California, has always been inspired by fabric and tapestries. Now in May 2008, realizing the need to further expand, they have relocated The French Unicorn Home Store to its current location at 198 Liberty NE. 2007, the Johnsons expanded this store in a new location across the street from the original store. 2006 a second store was opened on State Street to showcase Christmas and home décor merchandise.
